Mafalda cruz - creative artist specializing in theatre, film and performance arts

Originally trained in Fine Arts - Sculpture, she is currently based between Oporto, Lisbon and London. Over the course of her career she has worked in a wide variety of disciplines including set design, film, illustration, sound, animation, sculpture and photography examples of which can be found on this website.

Software Skills: Edius, Avid, Adobe Premiére Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Audition, Abobe Soundbooth, Sony Sound Forge, Sony Vegas, QLab and Isadora.

Additional Information

Within the previous mentioned degree, attended the Facultad de Bellas Artes de San Carlos in Valencia, Spain for a year in the Erasmus program.

Three month internship in video editing on MVM television channel from Next TV Company, Oporto, Portugal.

Creative and script writing for film and TV intensive course at Studio de Cine Escuela Productora in Barcelona, Spain.

June/December – InovArt international internship with Anomic Multimedia Theatre directed by DanShorten (audiovisual lecturer at Guildhall School of Music & Drama) Skills development

live feed capture and projection in theatrical performance. London & Norwich, UK.

September/December – Production internship at Constroisons, Lisbon.

Achievements & Experience:

1998 – Winner of International Contest of Ideas with the work Lágrimas de Chuva (Tears of Rain), drawing and poetry, Portugal.

1998 – Participation on the drawing and painting workshop through Fórum das Artes’98 and consequent exhibition of the developed works in the town museum - Convento dos Loios, Feira, Portugal.

1999 – Winner of the poetry contest As Palavras do Amor (The Words of Love) promoted by Associação de Municípios de Terras de Santa Maria with the following publishing of two poems in a poetry anthology, Portugal.

2003 – Collective exhibition of the students of the 12º year Secondary School of Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal; entered with com 6 drawings 1 painting.

2003 – Published works on the Poetic Anthology of poems edited by the school journal of Secondary School of Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal.

2005 – Collective exhibition in the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valência, Spain; entered with 2 sculptures.
